PHP 2M in fake Batman, Superman gear seized

Some Php 2 million worth of fake Superman and Batman children’s wear were seized by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) during a raid in Tondo, Manila, the other day.

The NBI Intellectual Property Rights Division headed by Elfren Meneses said the raid was conducted following a complaint lodged by the intellectual property rights representatives of Warner Brothers.

The raid was conducted against the manufacturing facility of Bee Cee Industries located at 2326 Juan Luna Street in Tondo.

After receiving information on the activities of the establishment, the NBI conducted surveillance operations and test buy.

Government agents armed with several search warrants issued by Judge Antonio Eugenio Jr. of the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 24 then staged a raid and seized 3,393 pairs of Superman and Batman shorts, 3,111 pieces of Superman and Batman T-shirts, 3,185 pieces of Superman patches and logo, six sewing machines, one industrial pressing machine, and one cutting machine.
