MANILA, Oct. 27 (PNA) — As part of the government’s campaign to crack down on pirated goods, agents of the National Bureau of Investigation-Central Luzon Regional Office confiscated Php 1.5 million worth of fake JanSport bags and other items during recent operations in Bataan.

Seized were 580 finished counterfeit Jansport bags, 190 unfinished counterfeit Jansport bags, 95 Jansport labels, 1,800 Jansport hang-tags and five units of sewing machines.

These items were confiscated from the factory outlet of a certain Mars Ballesteros located at Dona Nene, Barangay Alas-Asin, Mariveles, Bataan, and his residence/stockroom at Dau Street, Lupang Pangako, Mt. View, Mariveles.

The NBI obtained the search warrants from Presiding Judge Rainelda H. Estacio-Montesa, Branch 46 of the Regional Trial Court of Manila.

Charges of Trademark Infringement under the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines or Republic Act No. 8293 are being prepared against the owner/s of the raided establishments. (PNA)
