P5-M fake jeans seized
The National Bureau of Investigation confiscated counterfeit designer jeans worth P5.1 million in a raid in Pasay City.
The NBI-Intellectual Property Rights Division raided the Yuan Guin warehouse at 620 Apello Cruz St., Malibay and seized 2,837 pairs of fake Lee jeans.
The NBI placed the establishment under surveillance and conducted test-buys to confirm the illicit sale which was relayed to the bureau by complainant Orion Support Incorporated, which is representing the Intellectual Property Rights of HD Lee Company.
Charges of trademark infringement under the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines or Republic Act 8293 are being prepared against the owner of the establishment.
