P5.2m in fake ‘Vans’ seized
Agents of the National Bureau of Investigations yesterday confiscated P5.2 million worth of fake “Vans” rubber shoes in a series of raids in Pasay City.
Lawyer Elfren Meneses, NBI Intellectual Property Rights Division chief, said the places covered by the operations were Wintelo Merchandising, Ailene Ding and Una Ding at stall S-23, and two stockrooms of Unit B-43 inside the Bagong Milenyo Wholesale Center on F.B. Harrison Street, and Ley Warehouse on Russel Avenue.
Agents hauled off 2,895 pairs of imitation Vans footwear.
Owners of the raided establishments face charges for violating the Intellectual Property Code, according to Meneses.
