P28-M worth of fake JanSport, North Face items seized in Pasay raid

THE MANILA TIMES: National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents seized PhP28 million worth of fake JanSport and North Face bags during simultaneous raids in Pasay City Wednesday.

Seized by NBI-Anti Fraud and Action Division agents were 5,095 counterfeit JanSport bags; 8,666 fake North Face bags and 300 Lee jeans.

Raided were two retail outlets and five stockrooms of Xcella Bag Station and/or Sonny Huang located at Stalls A-41 & A-42, Stalls B-74 & B-75, Ground Floor, Baclaran Terminal Plaza Mall I, Unit T-17, Unit T-18, Third Floor, Tagalot Building, Unit S-7, Units S-8 & 9 and Units S-22, Second Floor, Baclaran Wholesale Complex, all located at F. B. Harrison St., Pasay City.

On the same day, NBI-AFAD also raided the stockroom of Jerry Ang located at an unnumbered unit in Two Shopping Mall, Taft Ave. Extension, Pasay City, where over 300 counterfeit Lee jeans were seized.

The NBI obtained the Search Warrants from Judge Eugenio Dela Cruz of Branch 117, Regional Trial Court, Pasay City.

Charges of Trademark Infringement under the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines or Republic Act No. 8293 are being prepared against the owners of the raided establishments. PNA

OSI Philippines was formed in 2001 by Jeff Williams, who is Board Certified in Security Management by the American Society for Industrial Security International.

Mr. Williams has over 40 years of combined worldwide investigative and security consulting experience, with over 25 years working Philippine-wide as a Special Agent and Counterintelligence Officer with the USAF Office of Special Investigations (OSI), U.S. Embassy, Manila; and then as the Country Manager for Pinkerton Consulting Services, Philippines.
