Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation-Intellectual Property Rights Division (NBI-IPRD) seized 5,054 counterfeit JanSport bags and 279 counterfeit The North Face bags worth P12 million during operations in Pasay City last Thursday.
Raided were the Wide High General Merchandise and/or Cai Wien Bien and/or Rufino Arevalo Catanghal’s two retail outlets located at Stalls E-69 & E-71 and Stalls E-58 & E-60, G/F, Baclaran Terminal Plaza 1, Taft Avenue Ext., Pasay City.
Also raided were stockrooms located at Unit FB-22 and Unit FB-54, 5th Floor, Baclaran Bagong Milenyo Plaza, F.B. Harrison Street, Pasay City.
The NBI-IPRD raids werte covered by a search warrants issued by Judge Lyliha L. Abella-Aquino of Manila Regional Trial Court, Branch 24.
Charges of Trademark Infringement under the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines or Republic Act 8293 are being prepared against the owners of the raided establishments.
