P1.9-M fake Looney Tune shirts seized
MANILA, May 17 (PNA)-Government agents have confiscated P1.9 million worth of fake Looney Tune shirts during simultaneous raids in Tondo.
Raided were a stockroom and outlet located in 3124 Pilar street, Manuguit, Tondo and Cluster 1, Tutuban Center, C. M. Recto, respectively, and reportedly owned and operated by a certain Wilson Ong and Willi Liu.
Seized were 59,854 counterfeit Looney Tune shirts and three units of cutting machines.
Government agents placed the establishments under discreet surveillance after Orion Support Inc. (OSI), intellectual property rights representative of Warner Bros, received several reports that the fake Looney Tune shirts were being manufactured and distributed without consent from their client.
The establishments were subsequently raided after sufficient evidence regarding trademark infringement were recovered.
Appropriate charges are now being prepared against the owners.
