NBI seizes P3.5-M worth of fake North Face, JanSport bags in Pasay raids

Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation-Intellectual Property Rights Division (NBI-IPRD) seized over 1,000 pieces of counterfeit North Face and JanSport bags worth P3.5 million during raids in Pasay City Wednesday.

Raided were Winson General Merchandise and Bea Jolly Co’s retail outlets located at Stalls E-24, E-25 and E-26, Ground Floor, Baclaran Bagong Milenyo Plaza, and stockrooms at Unit FA-26 and Unit FA-43, Fourth Floor, Baclaran Bagong Milenyo Plaza, and unnumbered Unit, Third Floor, Merwin Pakyawan Center, all located at F.B. Harrison St., Pasay City.

The NBI-IPRD obtained search warrants from Judge Lyliha L. Abella-Aquino of the Manila Regional Trial Court, Branch 24.

Charges of Trademark Infringement under the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines or Republic Act No. 8293 are being prepared against the owners of the raided

OSI Philippines was formed in 2001 by Jeff Williams, who is Board Certified in Security Management by the American Society for Industrial Security International.

Mr. Williams has over 40 years of combined worldwide investigative and security consulting experience, with over 25 years working Philippine-wide as a Special Agent and Counterintelligence Officer with the USAF Office of Special Investigations (OSI), U.S. Embassy, Manila; and then as the Country Manager for Pinkerton Consulting Services, Philippines.
