NBI seizes P1-M fake Warner Bros. T-shirts
The Nation Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has seized more than P1.1 million worth of fake Warner Bros. T-shirts during a raid in Navotas City.
NBI Director Nestor Mantaring yesterday said raided last Tuesday was the establishment Multi Fashion Garments and/or Cherry Tan and/or Sai Kung Chan located on the 3rd Floor , 207 Encarnacion St. , San Rafael Village, Navotas City.
NBI Intellectual Property Rights Division (IPRD) head Atty. Elfren Meneses Jr. said the operation was conducted following the complaint of Warner Bros. Entertainment Corp. for violation of Republic Act 8293 (Trademark Infringement).
Prior to the raid, Special Investigator III Adjutor Larosa said the bureau team conducted surveillance and test-buys on the establishment to confirm the report of the real maker of Warner Bros. T-shirts.
After confirming the information, the NBI raided the establishment by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Cielito Mindaro-Grulla of the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 17 at 3pm last Tuesday.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 2,168 counterfeit Warner Bros. T-shirts worth P1.1 million.
Owners of the raided establishment are now facing charges for violation of RA 8293.
