NATIONAL Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents raided last week a company owned by a Chinese-Filipino businessman that is allegedly infringing on the trademark of a beauty product.

NBI Director Nonnatus Rojas said agents from the bureau’s Intellectual Property Rights Division swooped down on the retail outlets and stockrooms of Double J Universal Venture Co. and seized some P5.5 million worth of Olay beauty products.

He said the raid on the outlet and three stockrooms of the company, which is also known as JJ Jewelry on Claro M. Recto Avenue in Santa Cruz, Manila, was made after the agent of Olay in the Philippines, Orion Support Inc., filed a complaint. The raided company is allegedly owned by Jacky Tan.
